Stamford Notebooks Company
High quality notebooks are a beautiful thing, especially when they are hand crafted with history and passion.
The Stamford Notebook company was founded by the Spiegl family who moved from London to Stamford Lincolnshire in the 1950's to start their family run business of printing and bookbinding. Hugo Spiegl was introduced to printing at the tender age of 13 and the seeds of passion for quality bookbinding were sown, in the 1990's he joined the family run firm and continued to flourish this passion for artisan bookbinding.
This is where The Stamford Notebook Company was created using traditional bookbinding equipment along with more up to date machinery. All aspects of production are carried out at their bindery in Stamford, including the printing of paper, folding, sewing, trimming and case making and casing in.
The wealth of knowledge they have acquired over the years about printing and bookbinding, from the highest quality paper, waterless inks, to the most appropriate sewing thread is immense. They will never use anything but quality products.
All Stamford Notebooks are handbound in Stamford, Britain, using centuries of old techniques and modern equipment (if you count a 1948 sewing machine as modern!) by people that define the word craftsmen.
They have and always will aim to bind the best notebooks and journals for writing and drawing using the best handwriting paper, leathers and bookbinding cloths they can find.
